After graduating in mathematics from North Carolina State University, Richard quickly climbed the corporate ladder and successfully held key management positions in the fast paced cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. A watershed moment led him to walk away from the glamour and financial stability and form his own management and technology consulting firm, which allowed him to devote more time to his family. He has also created a successful commercial and residential real estate firm.
Richard's passion is God's Word and practical application in every area of life: i.e. family, social, and workplace. His material is firmly rooted in biblical truth and filled with practical, take-home applications for life. He is an effective communicator who will challenge your group to apply God's truth to daily living. Richard is direct and is being used by God to share life-changing truths in a simple and impacting way. Richard is comfortable working with all age groups ranging from young single adults to senior citizens. He has been involved in one-on-one mentoring; teaching small Bible studies; teaching SS teachers and church leaders how to teach and lead small groups; speaking to various groups. Some of his most rewarding times were the years that he and Jo Ellen taught a Bible study, where they had 300-350 young single adults coming every Monday night to study God's Word and its application in their hectic and stressful school and business lives. To help him better understand the current world view, Richard sometimes meets with people from different religions and denominations. He has met with individuals from all major religions and many minor ones. He has also met with pastors and leaders of a wide array of Christian denominations, and he has even met with card carrying atheist.
Richard has been married to Jo Ellen for 45 years, and they have two daughters and two granddaughters. Richard is available to speak on a variety of topics.
